Meatloaf sandwiches as thick and hearty as a middle linebacker. But much tastier!
Why Try? A favorite comfort food goes handheld! For this sandwich use a good prepared meatloaf from your local butcher or freezer section, or use your own family recipe.
Foodie Byte: When making these sandwiches, save time by building all the sandwiches at once in assembly-line fashion; lay out a row of bread tops and second row of bread bottoms, spread all with mayo, layer bottom with lettuce, meatloaf, cheese and close with top slice.
Ingredients
-
16 slices artisan bread (sourdough, multigrain, or sesame seed bread), thick sliced
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 8 romaine lettuce leaves
- 8 slices prepared meatloaf, thick sliced, warm
- 8 slices aged cheddar cheese
Preparation
- Spread top and bottom slices of bread each with 1/2 tablespoon mayonnaise.
- Layer each bottom slice of bread with 1 romaine lettuce leaf, 1 slice of meatloaf, and 1 slice cheese.
- Close sandwich with top slice of bread.
